Overview
Dr. Vanessa Vath is a certified nurse educator and adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner with extensive experience in nursing education, curriculum development, and clinical practice.
Dr. Vath earned her PhD in Nursing from Northeastern University, where her dissertation explored the role of resiliency factors and environmental context in the psychological well-being of college students. She also holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in adult-gerontological primary care and a concentration in nursing education, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, all from Northeastern University.
With a teaching career spanning over a decade, Dr. Vath has held faculty positions at Merrimack College, Lawrence Memorial Regis College, and Northeastern University. She has designed and coordinated a range of undergraduate nursing courses in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Her leadership in curriculum development includes serving as Chair of the Department of Nursing Curriculum Committee at Merrimack College, where she led the integration of the AACN New Essentials of Nursing Education.
Dr. Vath’s clinical background includes roles in medical-surgical, telemetry, family medicine, and intensive care settings at institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital and Cambridge Health Alliance. Her research interests focus on the relationship of emotional intelligence and social supports in the maintenance of psychological well-being of college students.
She is an active member of several professional organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau International, the American Nurses Association, and the National League for Nursing. Dr. Vath is committed to fostering academic excellence and preparing future nurses to meet the evolving demands of healthcare while maintaining personal health.
