YOU ARE BOUVÉ
At Bouvé College of Health Sciences, students are offered an unparalleled array of real-world learning options in Boston, the preeminent center for medical innovation, and around the world.
Unlike traditional internships, these elevated professional experiences are integrated into the classroom and curriculum. The result is a customized educational approach that grows richer and more meaningful with each rotation of the academic/experiential cycle.
The learning model is built upon Northeastern’s award-winning co-op program, in which students alternate academic study with six-month professional placements or short-term opportunities, like the university’s study-abroad experiences, known as Dialogues of Civilizations.
Immersive learning and work experiences pay off. Within nine months of graduation, 94.9% of Bouvé undergraduate students are either employed in their chosen field, or in graduate school.
Upon graduation, experienced Bouvé students are uniquely positioned for a competitive job market. One in three Bouvé students go on to work for their former co-op employers.
When students return to the classroom, they are no longer passive recipients of theory and facts, but active participants in a dynamic academic dialogue where they share insights from their real-world experience.
Bouvé’s signature co-op program offers students 2 to 3 paid professional experiences at more than 175 employers in Boston and around the world. As home to world-renowned hospitals, research faculties, biotech and healthcare companies, Boston offers students unparalleled work experiences. Our educational model allows you to explore different areas of your field…in the field…all while developing valuable specialized skills and building a professional network.
Innovation is in our DNA. Northeastern’s entrepreneurial ecosystem includes a student-led venture accelerator that has helped launch 408 business and an innovation institute dedicated to transforming research breakthroughs into business success. The Bouvé College of Health Sciences has two organizations dedicated to helping students and alumni hone their ideas for health innovations and bring them to market.
As one of the nation’s top-ranked universities, Northeastern offers exceptional academics taught by leading educators, practitioners, and researchers.
Students also have the opportunity to do research alongside our faculty experts to further expand on their real-world experiences.
Whether it’s a six-month co-op, a semester abroad, or one of our one-month international courses, Bouvé offers educational opportunities in 136 countries on six continents. The world is our campus. Northeastern students graduate with a keen cultural awareness that can only come with engagement and immersion.
Today, Bouvé students complete more than 4,000 hours of service learning with 24-plus community partners alone. This integral part of our education leverages the resources of the university to local and global partners to create a more just world. Ranging from one day to over a year, students integrate these meaningful experiences into their education, fostering a call to service and health equity.
