Overview
Dr. Watkins is a licensed physical therapist who has worked in the Boston area in acute care, orthopedics and home care for over 30 years. She is a Clinical Professor in the Physical Therapy Department at Northeastern, she teaches entry-level and advanced musculoskeletal, pelvic health, health administration and integument content.
Her research focuses on the scholarship of teaching and learning of ultrasound imaging and DPT education, Dr. Watkins has presented educational sessions on the topic of Ultrasonography at many international, national, and state professional conferences. She earned her BSPT and tDPT at Northeastern University, Boston, Mass., and her MBA from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass.
She is certified in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging, a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics and is a licensed massage therapist with a certification in the Graston Technique.
Research Interests
Scholarship of teaching and learning of Ultrasound Imaging/Real Time Ultrasound Imaging in physical therapy education and practice.
