  • Identifying concerns of college staff and advocating possible solutions to the Dean of the College
  • Making recommendations for staff development
  • Providing an open forum to facilitate communication between staff and university administration, faculty, and students
  • Making recommendations to increase the sense of identity and recognition of our staff to the Dean of the College
  • Considering matters brought to our attention by staff members, university administration and other members of the university community who support the strategic vision of the university

Meet the Team

The staff council consists of six members representing the schools, departments, and centers and institutes within the College. The dean’s office and central college function also has a representative. Our team work closely with the office of the dean to ensure your perspectives get passed along and shared. Our community is enriched by engaged employees who share their insights and concerns. We look forward to serving you.

(Very) Brief History

In the past, despite being in integral part of the college and university community, staff had little to no real say in policy changes, decisions that had an impacted on their work, or hires of people they would directly report to. This administration appreciates the many roles staff play in our success and actively engage staff in both cultural and decision-making processes.
