Members of the department teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program and in other programs in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences and across the university. Many faculty participate in team-taught courses offered by the department, allowing them to share their unique expertise and experience with students both inside and outside the classroom. Most faculty members precept Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), allowing students to receive applied instruction in a variety of pharmacy practice and research settings.

All members of our department are active scholars. Faculty have received research funding from sources such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), and from a variety of foundations, professional associations, and private industry. Members of the department have also received funds to create and administer programs for the Nonprescription Medicine Academy, Boston Public Health Department, and the Collaborative for Community Engagement and Research. Our faculty are involved in the scholarship of teaching, developing innovative teaching methods in their classrooms and practice sites, and evaluating the learning outcomes that result. The products of these scholarly pursuits are regularly published in leading journals in the pharmacy, medical and educational literature. Faculty members also contribute to numerous textbooks and learning resources utilized by pharmacy educators throughout the world.

Our faculty provide service to the university community, to the profession of pharmacy, and most importantly, to patients. Faculty members practice in hospitals, clinics, and community pharmacies.
