Congratulations to Dr. Katherine Simmonds on her induction as a fellow into the American Academy of Nursing.

This is nursing’s highest honor.

Simmonds has just joined Northeastern’s Bouvé College and Roux Institute as a clinical professor within the School of Nursing. She comes to Northeastern from the MGH Institute of Health Professions where she had worked since 2000.

“I never thought I would be inducted as an American Academy of Nursing Fellow,” Simmonds told the IHP. “It signifies reaching a level of accomplishment and recognition in my career as a nurse, an educator, and a reproductive and climate justice advocate.”

Simmonds and the other inductees will be recognized at the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference in October.
