Overview

Dr. Sacha Shaw, Ph.D., BCBA-D (she/her), is a full-time assistant clinical professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at Northeastern University. Dr. Shaw assists the team of core ABA faculty in facilitating online student communities to foster a sense of belonging and inclusiveness during student onboarding, advising, and throughout behavior analytic graduate coursework. She has experience serving on the Biomedical Institutional Review Boards and Curriculum Committees at higher education institutions, and she has assisted institutions in meeting objectives for innovative teaching practices and student engagement by training faculty from various departments in effective teaching strategies for asynchronous online classrooms.

Dr. Shaw’s scholarly work encompasses research and the dissemination of effective teaching techniques utilized in asynchronous online graduate classrooms, as well as evidence-based practices that promote positive behavior in individuals and whole classrooms within K–12 school settings. In addition to comprehensive teaching and research experience, she brings nearly two decades of experience providing behavioral analytic services to diverse populations aged 2–22 across public and private school and residential settings in various states and countries. Currently, her consultative work focuses on developing skill-acquisition and function-based behavioral interventions for clients of all abilities in underserved urban and rural schools, as well as on providing educators with training to implement these interventions.
