Dr. Hayward, is a tenured associate professor member in the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences.  Dr. Hayward teaches an honors upper level seminar on contemporary issues in health care and psycho-social aspects of health care for doctor of physical therapy (DPT) students. She has also taught within the t-DPT program for over 10 years. For the past 12 years, Dr. Hayward has lead and taken over 200 DPT students on international service trips to Ecuador, China and Mexico.  The purpose of these trips was to provide physical therapy to children with disabilities. She has received several international and local service awards for her work within the local and global communities. She has won multiple grants and written close to 40 articles on her work. Her current research projects involve examining the use of innovative student assessment strategies, such as student pedagogical teams, and community based participatory research to understand the impact of international service-learning efforts on the community partner.
