Alexa Carlson joined Northeastern University in 2012 after she received her Doctor of Pharmacy at Butler University, completed a PGY1 residency at Temple University Hospital, and a PGY2 in Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. In 2019 she completed her master’s degree in education, with a focus on eLearning and Instructional Design. She teaches primarily in Comprehensive Disease Management, and developed and has coordinated the general medicine elective since 2015. Dr. Carlson also serves as the faculty advisor for Rho Chi. In addition to her work at Northeastern, Dr. Carlson maintains a practice site in adult internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she percepts pharmacy students and residents. Her interests include scholarship of teaching and learning, and a vast array of internal medicine topics like COPD and gout.
