If you have not yet submitted your enrollment deposit, please do so as soon as you are able. In order to secure your spot, please log into your portal, click on the box titled “Confirm Your Enrollment,” and on your Decision Reply Form, indicate your intent to enroll.

Once you have accepted the offer of admission, your deposit amount due will be displayed. You can then make your deposit. You will also find your program’s deposit deadline there.

2. Claim Your Account

The Northeastern Student Hub is the online portal and central resource for the Northeastern community. Your Northeastern username and password provide access to key university services tailored to you, including your student portal, university networks, and other university services.

Upon your admission, you should have received an account claim email from our Information Technology Services team, which will include instructions on How to Claim your Northeastern Account.

Please note: You MUST claim your account as soon as possible as this link will expire 60 days from your date of admission.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Information Technology Services team via email or at 617-373-4357.

Please note: If you have ever had a Northeastern account, you will not receive a new account claim e-mail. If you remember your Northeastern username, you can reset your password.

If you do not remember your username or are having other issues, email ITS at [email protected] or call +1-617-373-4357. You will need to provide your NUID as well as your full name and phone number.

3. Register for Courses

Visit the Office of the Registrar page for the dates of registration, vacation, and graduation, as well as course offerings, descriptions, and schedules.

Once you have submitted your deposit* your enrollment deposit and completed the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement, you will be able to register for courses via the Student Hub in the “Course Registration” section under the “Self-Service” tab. Review the Office of the Registrar’s instructions here.

(*Please allow 24-48 hours after making your deposit for your student record to be activated before attempting to register for courses.)

Registration dates are listed on our Academic Calendar. Your academic department will send more information concerning orientation and registration in the time between now and the date of your matriculation.

4. Get Your Husky Card

The Husky Card is the official identification card at Northeastern University. Who Gets a Husky Card?

All full- and part-time students are eligible to obtain a Husky Card. Learn how by visiting Instructions on how to Apply for a Husky Card. (Please note: Students must pay their enrollment deposit and register for their first term’s classes before they can apply for their Husky Card.)

(Note: Husky Cards are not required for students who will not visit a physical campus location. Online-only students should contact [email protected] for more information on requesting a Husky Card.)

Visit the Husky Card FAQ page for more information.

International Student Visa Information

Applying for your I-20 (F-1)

Visit the Office of Global Services to learn about the process of applying for an I-20.

If you are an international student requesting an I-20 — Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student, you must submit financial and biographical information and documents.

If you already have an I-20 and do not need to request a new one

You must submit your current study-eligible visa classification. Log in with your myNortheastern username and password to complete the Data Form for Non-NU Sponsored Students.

PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to log into myOGS until 24 hours AFTER you set up your myNortheastern account. Log in to myOGS using your myNortheastern username and password. Failure to complete either form can inhibit your ability to access essential resources on campus.

Please note that some academic programs have experiential learning requirements (e.g. co-op or study abroad). Immigration statuses other than F-1 may not allow for participation in such activities. If you are currently in another visa status and choose not to switch to an F-1 status, you may impact your ability to study full-time or engage in authorized employment/training, such as an internship, co-op or practicum.

Should you have any questions on applying for a change of status to F-1, please email the Office of Global Services (NOTE: link opens email to the OGS, with a subject line of “Change of Status to F-1”).

New Student Resources

Academic Calendar

Carefully review the Registrar’s Office’s Academic Calendar for important dates.

Academic Catalog

The Graduate Academic Catalog contains important information for new students, including administrative policies, academic curricula, and course descriptions. Please note that individual programs may also have their own handbooks, and students should refer to them for more specific information.

Textbooks

Visit the Northeastern Bookstore website to find the textbooks you will need to acquire for your courses. You will need to know your course numbers in order to find your textbooks.

If you are enrolling in a program on our Charlotte campus, the Northeastern Charlotte page is a great resource to learn more about the campus, the surrounding area, and what you need to know to relocate.

Parking and Public Transportation

Charlotte Campus: Students can park for free on the Charlotte campus. They are also able to take advantage of a 10% discount on tickets for all public transit options available through the Charlotte Area Transit System. Please check Northeastern Charlotte’s website.

Federally Sponsored Financial Aid

U.S. citizens and permanent resident aliens who are enrolling in degree programs are eligible to apply for federally sponsored financial aid administered by Northeastern University through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Northeastern’s FAFSA code is 002199.

If you will be utilizing federal financial aid, please remember to complete your entrance counseling and master promissory notes.

You will be billed for your courses electronically. You will receive e-bills at your Husky email address, and you can check your balance at any time under the ‘Self-Service’ tab in the Student Account section. If you withdraw from a course, you may still be responsible for a percentage of your tuition according to Northeastern’s refund policies. Please remember that you, not the faculty, are responsible for dropping a course if you need to do so.

Scholarship Disbursement

Students who receive a Northeastern scholarship should note that the scholarship will be reflected in their student account after the add/drop period has ended (approximately halfway through the semester, review the academic calendar for exact dates). To avoid late fees, please pay all costs indicated on your bill, minus your expected scholarship amount.

Visit the Academic Catalog for information on Bill payment, financial aid assistance, student refunds, and tuition and fees.
