Overview

A nationally recognized leader in health policy and strategic philanthropy, skilled in program management, grant management, as well as building and managing strategic collaborations with partners. Accomplished legal and policy professional with success in identifying innovative solutions, leveraging opportunities, and advocating for systems change.

Prior to joining the Northeastern faculty, Allison was Director of the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Allison also served as the Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the Joint Committee on Mental Health & Substance Abuse in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She has almost 10 years of experience in philanthropy serving as a Senior Director at The Boston Foundation leading the Health and Wellness Strategy which focused on investments to correct the imbalance between healthcare spending and expenses by reducing health care costs through increased primary prevention and by addressing social determinants of health. Additionally, while at TBF, Allison helped to create the Food & Fuel Fund in 2008 in response to the economic downturn and rising food and fuel costs in Massachusetts.
