Dr. Jason Lancaster Named Chair of Pharmacy Practice and Health Systems Sciences

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has announced that Dr. Jason Lancaster will serve as the new Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Health Systems Sciences, effective July 1, 2025, following a national search.

Dr. Lancaster has been with Northeastern University since 2007, currently serving as Clinical Professor and Interim Chair of the department. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and completed a Post Graduate Year Residency at Tufts Medical Center. He later earned his Master in Education in 2012 and has maintained certification as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist since 2008.

Throughout his tenure at Northeastern, Dr. Lancaster has demonstrated strong leadership across multiple levels of the institution. He has chaired numerous search, promotion, and academic committees while continuing his teaching and research activities. In 2017, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American Colleges of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and recently completed the ACCP Professional Leadership Development Program.

As an accomplished scholar, Dr. Lancaster has contributed significantly to the field with 30 peer-reviewed publications and more than 50 abstracts and posters. His research and clinical expertise have made him a respected voice in pharmacy practice and health systems sciences.

The appointment reflects the College’s commitment to promoting experienced leaders from within while maintaining excellence in pharmacy education and research.
