Overview

Dr. Jessica B. Edwards George is a Clinical Professor and Director of Clinical Training for the Counseling and School Psychology Programs in the Department of Applied Psychology at Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences. A licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist, she holds dual licensure and specializes in pediatric psychology, with a particular focus on children and families managing gastrointestinal illnesses, food allergies, and internalizing disorders.

Dr. Edwards George’s research examines dietary adherence and the psychological and behavioral correlates of adherence to medically necessary dietary regimens in pediatric populations, including children with celiac disease and food allergies. Her work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, Child Psychiatry & Human Development, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Journal of Pediatric Psychology, among others. She has secured external funding from the NIH, Beyond Celiac, and the Society of Pediatric Psychology.

In her clinical training role, Dr. Edwards George oversees practicum, advanced practicum, and internship placements across both programs. She is a Fellow of the Leadership Institute for Women in Psychology and serves as Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists.
