Overview

Professor Deese brings a wealth of experience to the School of Nursing, having dedicated 27 years to the field of nursing. Prior to joining our faculty, she practiced as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for 13 years and a RN in various NICNs and Pediatric units for 14 years. She also has held positions including clinical instructor, clinical coordinator, APRN coordinator, nurse educator, and lactation consultant.

Professor Deese is committed to fostering the next generation of nursing professionals. She believes in a student-centered approach to education. Professor Deese emphasizes clinical judgement and critical thinking to ensure that new graduate nurses are practice ready.

Professor Deese also serves as a faculty advisor for the National Student Nurse Association. This role allows her to play a key role in guiding, mentoring, and supporting student nurses as well as assisting with the development of their leadership skills.
