Overview
Dr. Connie Lorette, PhD, CRNA, APRN, FAANA, is Clinical Professor and Program Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice, Nurse Anesthesia Program at Northeastern University, where she has served on faculty for over 20 years. She has maintained an active clinical practice since earning her certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in 1996, including 27 years specializing in cardiac anesthesia. She currently practices in New Hampshire with Orchard Medical Group and Amoskeag Anesthesia.
Widely recognized as an expert, scholar, and leader in cardiac anesthesia, she has presented nationally and internationally on cardiac surgery, heart failure and LVAD management, anemia, coagulation, and perioperative transfusion strategies. She is deeply committed to global health work with the International Organization for Women and Development, through which she travels to Kigali, Rwanda to provide care for women with obstetric injuries. Her scholarly interests also include clinician wellness and substance use disorder among anesthesia providers.
She is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Patient Blood Management, serves as the New Hampshire State Advocate for the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Foundation, and is Vice President of the New Hampshire Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, having served on its Board for six years.
Named a 2007 American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Foundation Doctoral Fellow, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, Class of 2024. She earned her BSN from Rivier College, her MS from Northeastern University, and her PhD from Boston College.

Postoperative neurocognitive changes associated with anesthesia and cardiac surgery, identification of intraoperative processes of care associated with precursors of neurologic injury secondary to anesthesia for cardiac surgery
Risks and benefits associated with blood transfusions including strategies to reduce utilization of blood in the perioperative period
