Associate Professor

Physical Therapy, Human Movement, and Rehabilitation Sciences

Overview

Dr. Christopher J. Hasson is the director of the Neuromotor Systems Laboratory at Northeastern University. His research aims to develop a rigorous theoretical understanding of human sensorimotor control, especially during interactions with high-complexity systems, and ultimately, to use this framework to optimize rehabilitation interventions. To achieve these aims, Dr. Hasson uses a combination of techniques from neurophysiology, musculoskeletal modeling, and robotics. Dr. Hasson received his Ph.D. in biomechanics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed postdoctoral training in sensorimotor control and learning at Northeastern University, where he is now an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences, with affiliate appointments in the Departments of Biology and Bioengineering.
