Pharmaceutical Sciences Minor

Expand your understanding of pharmacology, medical chemistry and pharmaceutics.

The minor is designed for undergraduate students from a variety of disciplines who wish to explore key aspects of the pharmaceutical sciences, including:

  • Pharmacology
  • Medicinal chemistry
  • Pharmaceutics

Students who believe that additional exposure to these topics will integrate effectively with their major (particularly students in biology and chemistry majors, as well as those in chemical and bioengineering programs and health sciences) are encouraged to pursue this minor.

The minor in pharmaceutical sciences is NOT open to Bouvé students studying for a PharmD or BS Pharmaceutical Sciences students.

Sample Curriculum

The curriculum is comprised of three required courses and one elective for a minimum of 15 hours. For most up-to-date information please refer to the university’s academic catalog.

Successful completion of the minor requires that all coursework be completed with a minimum grade of D and courses may not be taken as pass/fail. The minor consists of three required courses and one elective course.  Up to two courses from other major and minor requirements may apply to this minor.
