Repairing the Parkinson’s Brain

Barbara Waszczak, PhD, is a Professor and a neuroscientist in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences who is pioneering the use of GDNF to repair damaged neurons in a rat model of Parkinson’s disease.  Her research was featured in the March 2017 newsletter from the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, in an article highlighting her collaborations with Nathan McDannold at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Mark Cooper at Copernicus Therapeutics in Cleveland.  See article here
