And the Webb Award goes to…
On October 23, 2017, the School of Pharmacy proudly hosted the 33rd Annual John W. Webb Lecture Award Program. James A. Jorgensen, RPh, MS, FASHP, was the recipient of the John W. Webb Visiting Professorship in Hospital Pharmacy. Each year the Visiting Professor presents a lecture on excellence in pharmacy management. Jorgensen delivered his lecture entitled “Tools of the Trade: Creativity, Innovation, Influence & Advocacy.”
Jorgensen is Chief Executive Officer at Visante, Inc. and Visante Ltd., where he leads national and international programs for medicines management improvement. During Jorgensen’s more than 30-year career in pharmacy oversight, he has been credited with more than 50 articles published in professional literature and has been a sought-after speaker, giving more than 200 presentations to academic and professional groups nationally and internationally.
The John W. Webb Visiting Professorship in Hospital Pharmacy was established in 1985 at the Northeastern University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, now part of the Bouvé College of Health Sciences. The award program is now administered by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The Award recognizes commitment to hospital pharmacy management, experience as a practitioner and educator, and dedication to excellence in pharmacy management. The American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy will publish the 2017 Webb Lecture given by James A. Jorgensen in an upcoming issue.
