Recent faculty highlights:

Becky Briesacher, PhD, Department of Pharmacy and Health Systems Sciences, received an R21 award from the NIH-National Institute on Aging for her work entitled “Clarifying the relationship between Delirium and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias”.  Delirium is common in older hospitalized adults admitted to nursing homes to recover, and is associated with negative complications including potentially misdiagnosed Alzheimer’s disease, psychoactive prescribing and permanent placement.  This nationwide and longitudinal study will provide novel and robust exploration of the critical role that appropriate nursing home care plays in downstream consequence of delirium.
