Faculty, Students and Alumni Active at ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting
The School of Pharmacy was well-represented at the 2018 American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting in Anaheim, California, where the school hosted its annual “Alumni and Friends Reception.” As always, the event was a great opportunity for faculty, alumni, colleagues, students and friends to gather and to hear news and updates on school news. Some lucky attendees walked away with a Northeastern gift from this year’s grand raffle.
Northeastern was active and well-represented at the meeting, where a number of faculty and students were involved in platform presentations and research sessions. Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Clinical Professor Jenny Van Amburgh’s, platform presentation “Solution Driven Strategies Promoting Clinical Well-Being” was a highlight and was featured in ASHP News and Views as the headline story. (It’s not every day that one can grab the top billing from a celebrity…Earven “Magic” Johnson, the keynote speaker at the conference, was the second front page story). Dr. Van Amburgh, along with Dr. Seena Haines from the University of Mississippi, presented data and symptoms of burnout, a reality in the health professions, and included organizational strategies to combat the issue.
A number of students, faculty and recent alumni shared their research at the poster sessions. Below are some of the presenters:
