SOPPS appoints new Assistant Dean for Research

Associate Professor Dr. Tania Konry has been appointed the new Assistant Dean for Research in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Dr. Tania Konry will serve as a member of the executive leadership team of the SOPPS and be responsible for providing administrative oversight and coordination for all activities pertaining to the research enterprise, and for enhancing and marketing the research reputation of the SOPPS at Bouvé College of Health Sciences and beyond by developing and implementing strategic initiatives to promote and sustain a culture of scholarship, research productivity and collegiality within the SOPPS and across the College and University.

A bioengineer by training, Konry moved from the Harvard Medical School Center for Engineering to work in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She worked on projects that led to funding for the Konry Lab, which allows students to explore biotech from lab to industry.

One of Konry’s goals as Assistant Dean for Research is to establish a bridge between Northeastern University and Ben-Gurion University, a research university in Israel, to expand research, offer exchange student programs, and allow for further collaborations with biotech. While currently, no exchange student policy exists in the school, Konry hopes to finalize a program by the end of 2023.

Stay tuned to see the exciting things to come from Dr. Konry and SOPPS.
