Alumni Newsletter Fall 2018

John Reynolds

Greetings alumni and friends!

The convergence of the last part of the academic semester and the holiday season seems to bring a swifter pace to students, faculty and staff in all the work they do. For those around Boston, that fast pace around campus often relates to getting out of the cold. Off campus, the streets of our cities and towns are just as lively as people anticipate the merriment – followed by the peace – of the season. My colleagues and I hope that you and your families and friends are finding joy during this wonderful season.

I have now been back in the school of pharmacy for 1 ½ years, and continue to see examples every day of what keeps our school so strong and so well prepared to shape the future through the excellent work of members of academic and alumni communities. Being in a comprehensive research university that not only values initiatives involving health, but also continues to firmly build such initiatives into our academic and strategic plans, enables us to influence health care all the way from our local communities to places around the world. Indeed, our students are finding co-op positions across the country and around the world, and all are having powerful and transformational experiences as they develop new perspectives and find their places within the workplace and in diverse communities.

In the news that follows, we offer some examples of current successes of those who comprise our school community. Please enjoy the updates. And, as always, we welcome you to write, offer suggestions, share good stories, attend continuing education programs, or come to campus for a visit. The door is always open!
