Dr. Tiffany Kelley is the Founder and CEO of Nightingale Apps LLC and iCare Nursing Solutions LLC. Nightingale Apps is her first company that she started in response to the discovery she made to deliver mobile tools to nurses and health care teams that allow for efficient and accurate access to patient information that is accessible on the go for the delivery of quality patient care. Know My Patient ® is Kelley’s first invention, a patent-pending mobile application designed to provide nurses with patient information at their fingertips while on their patient care unit. Her second company, iCare Nursing Solutions LLC, provides consulting services to health care organizations in need of health IT and/or informatics solutions to address the needs of their end users. Kelley also offers educational courses to informatics nurses seeking to become board certified in the field.
Kelley earned her Ph.D. from Duke University where she studied the information needs of nurses before and after the use of an electronic nursing documentation system. Her pursuit of a Ph.D. came after working at Boston Children’s Hospital on their electronic health record (EHR) implementation project where she saw the need to further understand the use of EHRs on the delivery of quality care. Kelley earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing Administration and MBA from Northeastern University and her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University.
In addition to her entrepreneurial and academic efforts, Dr. Kelley speaks to nursing, health care and business groups on nursing innovation and entrepreneurship. She is the author of Electronic Health Records for Quality Nursing and Health Care and several other peer-reviewed publications. Kelley served on the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Board of Directors as an Ex-Oficio member in 2013-2015. She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the current Chair for ANA of Massachusetts’ Technology Committee. Dr. Kelley is board certified as an Informatics Nurse through the ANCC.
