Howie Hecht is a Boston-based entrepreneur, innovator,and angel/seed investor who loves creating and launching new products and helping other entrepreneurs succeed. Howie’s unique education from MIT and Sloan business school is the right combination of management information technology, management science, computer science, and psychology that has positioned him well to succeed in the startup world.
Howie is currently a managing partner in the mobile and web product development firm Appanite, Inc. and serves as a leader in the firm’s new and rapidly growing AdsSciences digital marketing and advertising optimization platform. Howie also serves as the CEO and co-founder PocketRoster, a private social network platform startup helping groups and teams share information and communicate.
As if that wasn’t enough, Howie also spends his time supporting other entrepreneurs by advising, mentoring and making seed-level investments in promising teams. He currently serves as a mentor and a judge in the Boston-based MassChallenge startup competition and accelerator program, and as a mentor in the Israel-based SocialTechLab 8200 accelerator program.
Howie’s diverse background spans product management leadership and management consulting across many different verticals including digital advertising and marketing, content delivery, networking, security, compliance, financial services, mobile, healthcare, and more. He has experience with companies of all sizes, from small startups to small and medium businesses to large enterprises.
When Howie is not working on creating or supporting new and innovative ventures, he enjoys boating, photography, travel, movies, music, and volunteering most of his free time for worthy causes.
