Hannah Kim (PharmD’27) – mentored by Jie Shen, is developing sustained-release drug formulations for diseases, such as bipolar disorder, to enhance medication adherence by using HPLC, USP, and SDI techniques, focusing on optimizing excipients and release mechanisms for improved effectiveness and consistent therpeutic outcomes.
Jordan Miller (COS’25) – mentored by Dr. Lori Ferrins, is developing small molecule inhibitors for Human African Trypanosomiasis, a fatal disease threatening 70 million people.
Daniel Shen (Bouvé’28) – guided by Dr. Jie Shen, is advancing PBPK modeling to translate rat data to humans for antipsychotic drug development, aiming to reduce animal testing and accelerate personalized medicine.

Dr. Adeoye “Oye” Owolewa (PharmD’14) – US Representative for the District of Columbia. Combining his passion for pharmacy and public health service, Dr. Owolewa continues to serve his community both as an elected official and as a practicing pharmacits in DC. His journey embodies the spirit of our Bouvé community – where healthcare meets leadership.
Kalina Korzec PharmD’23 – awarded the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Resident Research Grant. Kalina’s thesis project at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy focuses on evaluating bundle compliance and its impact on outpatient antimicrobial therapy outcomes.
Erica Diamantides PharmD’14 – 2025 ASHP Fellow. This prestigious recognition by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) honors pharmacists who have demonstrated excellence in pharmacy practice and significant contributions to the profession.
