Wajma Yusufzai works as a Post-award Grants Administrator and HR Specialist at the Institute on Urban Health Research and Practice at Northeastern University. She has a degree in Science, plus many years of experience managing financial portfolio’s consist of institutional, federal, private and industry sponsors.
In her current position at the IUHRP, Wajma is responsible for finance and grants management, human resources, and overall office management. Her responsibilities include all post-award grant management including initiating and monitoring subcontract and consultant agreements and tracking all payments across all accounts. In addition, she works with onboarding/off boarding, staff, and student/temp payroll, posting positions, managing personnel files, completing HR action forms, supervising full-time co-op students and assisting the IUHRP Director as needed.
Before coming to IUHRP, Wajma was a grants and finance manager at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and before that, she worked as a lab manager for two neuroscience laboratories at Brandies University.
Wajma loves working with her colleagues at the IUHRP and gains a sense of satisfaction being an integral part of the research that focuses on improving the lives of others in the community.
