Research, Innovation and Scholarship Expo (RISE)

Students affiliated with the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research had a great showing at Northeastern University’s Research, Innovation and Scholarship Expo (RISE) this year.  Undergraduate and Graduate students presented on the research they are working on with affiliated Institute faculty across various University colleges.

RISE participants:

Arielle Scoglio, a doctoral student in the Population Health Program at Bouve College of Health Sciences presented her work related to robotics and their use in mental health research.

Nal Gissan, Health Sciences major, class of 2022 and Kathryn Margiotta, Psychology major, class of 2021 presented on their research they are working with Dr. Rachel Rodgers in Bouve College of Health Sciences in the Department of Applied Psychology on body image and the impact it has on health.

Nur Selin Akbulut, a biology and political science major in the College of Science, class of 2021 and Mackenzie Breen, a biology and political science major in the College of Science, class of 2023 collaborated on a poster exploring the heuristics for designing and evaluating mobile health interventions, research Dr. Andrea Parker from Khoury College of Computer Science is leading.

All the students did such a great job presenting the research they have been working on.  We also want to say congratulations to Caroline Kim for her winning the Outstanding Student Research Award for the division of Social Science, Business, and Law. Thank you to all of the students for all the hard work it took to present at RISE.
