New Publication from Dr. Carmel Salhi, Arielle Scoglio and Dr. Alisa Lincoln
Institute Faculty Scholar Dr. Carmel Salhi, IHESJR Graduate Research Assistant and doctoral candidate in the Population Health Program in Bouvé College of Health Sciences Arielle Scoglio, and the IHESJR’s Director, Dr. Alisa Lincoln, have a new publication in the Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology journal. This work was supported by an NIMHD grant in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital’s Refugee Trauma and Resilience Center.
Their article is entitled “The relationship of pre- and post-resettlement violence exposure to mental health among refugees: a multi-site panel survey of somalis in the US and Canada.” Their study examines “Somali refugee’s exposure to post-resettlement violence across time”, where they concluded that “post-resettlement exposure has a larger association with mental health than pre-settlement exposure.” To learn more about this, use this link to read more.
