New Special Issue and Publications from Dr. Beth Molnar and VTT Team
Dr. Beth Molnar has co-edited a new special issue of the journal Child Abuse & Neglect, published December 2020, entitled Promoting a Healthy and Resilient Child Abuse & Neglect Workforce. The research studies include work from around the global describing both research and practice to build and retain a resilient child protection workforce. Dr. Molnar wrote the introductory editorial and a systematic review article within it, which many Vicarious Traumatic Toolkit (VTT) project colleagues co-authored. Included among the co-authors is current Population Health PhD student Samantha Meeker, who works with Dr. Molnar on the current Vicarious Trauma Resources Initiative (VTRI). Their article is entitled “Vicarious traumatization among child welfare and child protection professionals: A systematic review.” This review of research articles from 1995-2018 describes the epidemiology of vicarious traumatization including prevalence, risk and protective factors and potential negative and positive outcomes for child protection professionals exposed to traumatic narratives.
