New Publication From Faculty Scholar Dani Snyder-Young

Faculty scholar, Dr. Dani Snyder Young, Assistant Professor of Theater College of Arts, Media, and Design, recently published a paper titled, Recovery capital and collaborative theatre making: how actors in recovery from substance addiction value their participation in addiction prevention plays. The paper focuses on identifying benefits that those recovering from substance abuse can gain by participating in theater-based support programs like Improbable Players. It also recognizes the four key forms of recovery capital: social, physical, human, and cultural capital in which participants are able to obtain through job opportunities, sharing their own stories, and learning from others. You can read the full article here
