Leo Beletsky is an Associate Professor of Law and Health Sciences at Northeastern University, where he is the faculty director of the Health in Justice Action Lab. He is also on faculty at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. Beletsky’s expertise is in the public health impact of laws and their enforcement, with special focus on drug overdose, infectious disease transmission, and criminal justice reform through a public health lens.
Project Description
Beletsky’s research considers the role law and policing as a structural determinant of health, with special focus on the overdose crisis, addiction, and human rights in both domestic and international settings.
