About
John Olawepo is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Health Science, Northeastern University. His research explores chronic illnesses among people living with HIV. He also does research in global health, maternal and child health, and implementation science.
Dr. Olawepo received his medical training from the University of Ilorin, and postgraduate training in Public Health from the University of London, UK, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has over ten years of clinical, programmatic, and research experience working on CDC, USAID, and NIH grants.
Project Description
Sub-Saharan Africa bears a disproportionate burden of people living with HIV (PLHIV) and infants infected with HIV. Dr. Olawepo’s body of work explores innovative mechanisms to prevent transmission of new infections to infants and improve the quality of life for adults living with HIV, especially as regards the early diagnosis and treatment of chronic illnesses among PLHIV.
