Institute SGA Sameera Nayak Selected as Communication Chair for the APHA International Health Student Committee

Sameera Nayak, an Institute SGA, was recently selected as the Communication Chair for the APHA International Health Student Committee. In this role she will be spearheading efforts to engage and support students in global health, including students from outside of the US.

International Health (IH) is a section of APHA. It has a student section (IHSC) that is being revived. In her role as chair of communications, Sameera will be working to elevate the voices of international students scholars of all levels within the field of international/global health to ensure that their research and praxis is driven by the individuals who are directly impacted by the issues that they aim to solve. It is a one year leadership position and her main focus is going to be widening the pool of student members, creating networking opportunities for students in global health, and raising IHSC’s social media presence.
