Institute Faculty, Staff, and Students Volunteer at Community Servings

Each semester, the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice offers a service opportunity in support of our mission of promoting health equity and social justice and reducing disparities in health. Faculty, staff, and students from the Institute come together to provide needed volunteer services in the Boston community. This year, we were pleased to work again with Community Servings, an organization whose mission is to actively engage the community to provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to chronically and critically ill individuals and their families.

On April 11th, 2022, the IHESJR volunteered at Community Servings in Jamaica Plain. We worked with other volunteers and the Community Servings staff to successfully prepare and package meals for the next day’s delivery to clients.

The Institute looks forward to continuing this tradition of community service with more organizations in the future.
