Dr. Tiffany Joseph Publishes Op-Ed in Newsweek Magazine

​IHESJR Health Equity Faculty ​Scholar Dr. Tiffany Joseph, ​from the College of Social Science and Humanities recently published an op-ed article titled “Trump’s Immigration Policies are Making the Coronavirus Pandemic Worse” in Newsweek. The ​op-ed discusses the possible ramifications of Trump’s immigration policies, such as the ICE detainments and the public charge rule, on COVID-19’s impact ​on immigrant populations. Dr. Joseph cites several examples ​from her current research to prove the pandemic’s worsening negative impact  on the immigrant population such as immigrants being excluded from the CARES Act, the federal COVID-19 relief bill.
