Dr. Tiana Yom Receives Outstanding Teaching Award

Dr. Tiana Yom, Program Director of the Northeastern University Public Evaluation Lab (NU-PEL), was selected to receive an Outstanding Teaching Award for the College of Social Sciences and Humanities .

For more than a decade, Tiana has developed, overseen, and evaluated school- and community-centered programs that aim to support healthy behaviors among Youth and their social networks. Prior to joining NU-PEL, Tiana has held administrative, research, and teaching positions in PK-12 public schools, higher education, non-profit organizations, local government agencies, and hospitals.

Tiana Yom’s contributions to teaching in School of Public Policy and Affairs (PPUA) have played an important role in bringing real-world policy skills into the classroom. The selection committee noted her problem-solving approach and incorporation of experiential learning, and commends her support and devotion to her students. Professor Yom regularly teaches the PPUA course on Techniques of Program Evaluation, and students praise the service learning dimension of her course as well as her inclusive learning approach.
