Dr. Tiana Yom, IHESJR Faculty Scholar and Northeastern University’s Public Evaluation Lab’s (NU-PEL). Program Director and Kelly Washburn, GBEN Programming Co-chair, recently co-authored a post for the American Evaluation Association highlighting their ongoing partnership and their upcoming culturally responsive evaluation (CRE) series. This NU-PEL and GBEN collaboration began in 2020 and is open to GBEN members, Northeastern University Students, academic and non-academic folx, and potential GBEN members. The CRE series brings in speakers to create a space for learning how to incorporate a CRE lens into one’s work and continue to provide a platform to increase visibility and empower Evaluators of Color. This partnership between NU-PEL and GBEN has created a space and pathways for collaborations between multigenerational networks of collaborators.
The Fall 2022 NU-PEL & GEBN CRE series virtual event will take place on November 16th at 11:30 AM EST over Zoom. Speaker Dr. Wanda Casillas, Associate Research Professor at Claremont Graduate University, will lead a virtual, interactive 90-minute workshop to address evaluation of large-scale systems change efforts that emphasize equity and how CRE married with relevant and overlapping systems principles leads to a robust evaluation and applied research practice.
