Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research
Associate Research Director & Open Rank Research Professor
The Associate Research Director position is a new position and will support the continued development of the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research (IHESJR). We are particularly interested in scholars with research areas of focus that include public mental health and substance use, violence and trauma studies, and refugee and immigrant health however scholars with work in health equity and social justice are also encouraged to apply. The IHESJR is growing – and we seek a health equity scholar with a proven track-record of research to expand the leadership of our team. IHESJR’s mission is to generate scientific knowledge needed to promote health equity and social justice, and reduce disparities in health, mental health, and well-being. At the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research we bring together faculty and students from across Northeastern University’s many departments and colleges, along with our research partners, to tackle these complex challenges. Our teams draw upon a wide range of research methods and intervention strategies but share common commitments to promoting health equity and social justice through high-impact, community engaged research.
The Associate Research Director will be a Research Faculty member in Bouve’ College in a department that aligns with their discipline and expertise. The Associate Director position supports the inclusion of administrative leadership activities at the Institute and the continued development of the scholar’s research portfolio.
