Alisa Lincoln and Co-authors are Recognized by SAGE

SAGE publication held a call for nomination in late 2018 for articles that have had a significant real-world impact on policy, education, practice, or research in the field. The hopes of this call is to showcase high quality content that may not be captured in traditional metrics.

Dr. Alisa Lincoln and her team’s article, The double stigma of limited literacy and mental illness: Examining barriers to recovery and participation among public mental health service users was chosen as one of the articles to be included on the SAGE Inspire microsite. This article focuses on data from Dr. Alisa Lincoln’s NIMH R01 grant (1R01MH096707), Examining limited literacy in the lives of people living with serious mental illness. This grant looked at the prevalence of limited literacy in people using services at two public outpatient mental health centers as well as the impacts of people living with limited literacy.
