MECCS, led by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, has an overall aim to demonstrate a 25% increase in age-appropriate developmental skills amongst three-year-old children in two Massachusetts communities, Chelsea and Springfield. They are also participating in state-level efforts to develop an early childhood data system to track child developmental health indicators.
Researchers from the IHESJR at Northeastern University are conducting a process evaluation to track their progress on these two aims and to provide training and technical assistance to the participating community health centers.
