The Entrepreneurship Training Institute is part of the Safe and Sound Return Program, which is run in conjunction with Northeastern professors in the College of Business Administration and the Boston Public Health Commission.
In this ten-week training program, women develop skills that they can later use in professional and educational settings. Participants receive training in how to cope with trauma and substance abuse, setting employment goals, and turning business ideas into reality.
The program gives clients the tools they need to create résumés, start their own businesses, find alternative employment, or begin appropriate coursework in an educational setting.
Additionally, throughout the program, individual and groups counseling aims to empower women to overcome obstacles and improve their self-image. Past program participants also visit the program to share their stories of success with women currently enrolled in the program.
