Dr. Giuliano’s clinical experience includes adult general medical-surgical and critical care, with expertise in general acute and critical care, cardiovascular and trauma care. She has made numerous contributions to the literature, with over 70 publications in more than 18 different journals. Dr. Giuliano is a frequent presenter with a specific interest on the intersection of clinical needs and medical technology use, development and innovation. Her specific area of focus is on the generation of clinical evidence to support improved patient outcomes.
Dr. Giuliano has received numerous research and nursing awards, including University of Virginia Nurse-of-the-Year in 1993, induction as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) in 2003, and a Professional Achievement award from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation in 2012. She is a six-sigma green belt, and holds a BSN and PhD in nursing from Boston College, Primary Care and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from University of Massachusetts, an MBA from Babson, and a postdoctoral research fellowship from Yale.
