Overview

Dr. Monagle has been a leader in nursing education for over 25 years. She is currently a clinical professor at Northeastern University. Since earning her PhD at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2012, Dr. Monagle has dedicated much of her research to advancing the science of nursing education in clinical judgment development and is part of a research team, focused on teaching and evaluating clinical judgment.

She is currently a member of the International Consortium of Nursing Education (ICONed), a collaborative group of representatives from academia, practice, regulation, and accreditation working to strategically address the academic practice gap.

She is past president of Massachusetts/Rhode Island League for Nursing (MARILN) and a recent member of the  Board of Registration for Nursing (BORN) in Massachusetts.

In 2024, she was inducted into the NLN Academy of Nursing Education Fellows which celebrates individuals who have contributed to nursing education in sustained and significant ways.
