Project Manager, Institute on Health Equity and Social Justice Research
Daphney Mirand is a community health professional with experience working to help communities of color tackle health disparities. Daphney has held administrative, health care, and health educator positions in non-profit organizations, hospitals, and in higher education and has worked with many different patient data systems.
Daphney received her B.S from Curry College in Community Health and Wellness and she received her M.S in Exercise and Health Sciences from UMass Boston. Prior to joining Northeastern, Daphney worked as a Patient Navigator and Community Health Worker at Boston Medical Center.
Outside of Northeastern, Daphney is an active member of the Boston chapter of YNPN, “Young Non-Profit Professionals Network,” an organization that develops a stronger, higher impact nonprofit community in Boston by engaging young talent and their organizations in professional development and human capital management practices.
At Northeastern, Daphney Mirand is the Project Manager for three grant-funded evaluation research projects in the Molnar Violence and Trauma Research lab at the Institute on Health Equity and Social Justice Research. She is overseeing two projects evaluating early childhood mental health interventions with collaborators from the Boston Public Health Commission and the MA Department of Public Health. She is also overseeing the evaluation study of the Vicarious Trauma Resource Initiative to deliver training and technical assistance to 12 communities to increase their capacity to help first responders and other victim services providers who experience vicarious trauma. The latter project is in collaboration with the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
