Associate Clinical Professor
Andrew Mackie, PA-C, MPAS, has been in clinical practice for more than 20 years and has held a variety of teaching positions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from Harvard University and completed Yale’s Physician Associate program in 1991. He subsequently earned his master’s degree in PA Studies at the University of Nebraska.
He has worked clinically in internal medicine, cardiology and critical care. During his clinical work he had the opportunity to lead clinical teams and served on committees that focused on patient safety and implementation of evidence-based care. He continues to practice weekly in hospital medicine.
He has lectured regularly for more than 10 years, and has a self-described “passion” for teaching and learning. He previously spent 5 years as an academic coordinator for a post-graduate PA residency in critical care at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass and for two years prior to joining the Northeastern faculty he was an academic coordinator at the Johnson & Wales Center for Physician Assistant Studies. He enjoys bird watching in his spare time.
