Overview

Dr. Sikkema is a Board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with a clinical specialty in Cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and the Preventive Cardiovascular Nursing Association. She has been active with the national Women Heart Organization and the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention and participated on several American Heart Association Guideline Writing Task Forces. Dr. Sikkema was an Assistant professor, previously teaching in the DNP and Masters programs on-line for the University of North Dakota. Prior to that, she was the Director of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program and taught in the Undergraduate, Graduate and DNP programs of the University of Miami.
