Overview
I am an assistant professor of Nursing in the Bouve College of Health Sciences School of Nursing’s ABSN hybrid program. I coordinate the NRSG 3420 and 3421 courses across the Boston, Burlington, and Charlotte campuses.
I am a practicing clinical and procedural nurse, with more than 38 years of experience. Over the course of my career, I have worked in several critical care areas. For the past 15 years, my specialization has been the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Vascular Lab, and the Electrophysiology lab.
My professional interests focus on local and national health policy issues; specifically advocating for affordable, accessible, equitable healthcare to improve our patient outcomes and the social determinants of health.
As a clinical nurse leader, I have always worked to advocate for and support the profession of nursing. My doctoral focus was workplace safety in healthcare and social service areas. Specifically, I worked on legislation in the state of Maine to address gun violence in healthcare settings at the local and state level. I am currently working on a health policy research project, which I will submit for publication in 2025.
