Dr. Ncube is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences, Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University. She is a maternal and child health researcher dedicated to understanding and addressing racial/ethnic disparities. Her research involves the disciples of perinatal and social epidemiology. Her body of work provides evidence in support of the transmission of poor birth outcomes across generations, differences by maternal race and offspring sex in transgenerational risk, and the significant role of intergenerational social and economic neighborhood context in perpetuating racial/ethnic disparities. She has active projects in the following topic areas: racial/ethnic disparities in maternal morbidity/mortality, antepartum and intrapartum stillbirth risk, and socioeconomic (dis)advantage across the lifecourse with respect to later life reproductive outcomes.
Dr. Ncube completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Washington (NIH T32 Reproductive, Perinatal and Pediatric Epidemiology). She was a Northeastern University Future Faculty Fellow in the Department of Health Sciences and the (former) Institute of Urban Health Research prior to joining the faculty of Northeastern University. Dr. Ncube is presently a Health Equity Faculty Scholar in the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research at Northeastern University.
