Dr. Olivieri-Mui is an epidemiologist dedicated to improving healthcare for older and minority populations. She was trained in biology and chemistry at the University of Vermont, has an MPH in urban public health from the City University of New York, Hunter College, and a PhD in population health from Northeastern University. With more than 15 years of experience in clinical and public health, she has developed expertise in HIV and aging, nursing homes, LGBT health, and related health services research using big data, insurance and Medicare claims. Dr. Olivieri-Mui’s recent work focuses on older persons living with HIV to understand how comorbidities, frailty, and other geriatric syndromes influence HIV-related health care quality and antiretroviral prescribing patterns, particularly in dependent care settings. During her time as a Harvard Medical School T32 post-doctoral research fellow for Translational Research in Aging her work using novel methods categorizing comorbid risk among Medicare beneficiaries with HIV won the Young Investigator award at the International HIV and Aging Workshop.
